Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor said Sunday’s night game against the San Francisco 49ers brought back memories of playing in the rain with friends in the neighborhood as a child.
While the stakes were decidedly higher, the Colts embraced the challenge of playing in unique weather events known as a “bomb cyclone” and a “atmospheric river,” a phenomenon where two severe storms converge, bringing high winds, heavy rain and snow to the West Coast.
Taylor said they expected to play through adversity, and adversity hit the Colts in the mouth on their first offensive play. After the 49ers marched down the field on a eight-play scoring drive, the normally sure-handed Taylor fumbled away his first carry of the game.
