Like the defense, the offense was dealing with a lot of injuries. Starting quarterback, running back, and right guard were all missing, and center Ryan Kelly went down late in the game with a calf injury. Joe Flacco is as good a backup as it gets, and he clearly likes playing with this receiving group and Shane Steichen. Now just to clarify, there is no way he should start, and he is not elite by any means, just a good backup quarterback. Same thing happened with Minshew last year: when defenses had to prepare to face Anthony Richardson they struggled against the backups, but when they could prepare a gameplan to face the backup the offense struggled.
