INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Colts' players knew something wasn't right when they converged for a team meeting following their bye week in the fall of 2012.
Instead of having coach Chuck Pagano talking about their next opponent, the Green Bay Packers, Pagano was nowhere in the building.
The meeting featured owner Jim Irsay, general manager Ryan Grigson, interim coach Bruce Arians, and Dr. Larry Cripe on Oct. 1, 2012.
The players learned that Pagano, the first-time head coach, would be away from the team for 12 games while he battled leukemia.
Silence then fell in the room.
