Frank Gore retires: He played for the Colts for three years

Indianapolis Colts fans have fond memories of running back Frank Gore, but his heart rests with the San Francisco 49ers.

The NFL's third-leading all-time rusher is signing a one-day contract with the 49ers to retire. He played his first 10 seasons (2005-14) with San Francisco, earning five Pro Bowl berths.

He played for the Colts from 2015-17, gaining 2,953 rushing yards and scoring 19 touchdowns (13 rushing, 6 receiving). Gore broke a 61-game 100-yard rusher drought for the Colts when he picked up 106 yards on 22 carries in a 26-23 loss to the Houston Texans on Oct.
