INDIANAPOLIS — An enormous pillar of the Colts locker room is moving on.
Former Indianapolis quarterback Jacoby Brissett agreed to a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday, according to a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, ending a four-year tenure that included two full years as the Colts starter, first in place of an injured Andrew Luck, then after Luck’s retirement.
The Boston Globe reported that Brissett's deal was worth up to $7.5 million, with $5 million guaranteed.
Handed a two-year, $30 million contract and an opportunity to establish himself as the Colts starter after Luck’s shocking retirement, Brissett failed to grab hold of the role in 2019 as he struggled in the second half of the season and Indianapolis fell from a 5-2 start to a 7-9 finish and out of the playoffs.
