Former Colts Offensive Guard Hugh Thornton Signs With Atlanta Falcons

INDIANAPOLIS – Hugh Thornton will try to cure his injury ails with the Atlanta Falcons.

After three straight seasons ending on injured reserve, Thornton saw his rookie contract expire earlier this month.

The Colts did not re-sign Thornton, a 2013 third-round pick who started 32 games in his first three seasons in Indianapolis.

On Tuesday, the Falcons signed Thornton.

Coming into a contract year this past season, Thornton was expected to compete for the starting right guard job with Denzelle Good.

But that competition hardly got started as an ankle injury placed Thornton on IR at the end of the 2016 preseason.
