INDIANAPOLIS — There is a point in the recovery from a torn Achilles tendon that is hard to explain.
From a medical standpoint, the surgically repaired tendon is strong enough, healthy enough for a football player to return to the field.
But he’s not himself yet. Not quite.
Dayo Odeyingbo spent his rookie season trapped in that space.
“You’re healthy enough to play, but you don’t necessarily feel better,” Odeyingbo said. “You might be able to run around and do everything on it, but your body is still catching up.”
Odeyingbo, the Colts’ second-round pick last year, tore his Achilles tendon in January of 2021, right before the Senior Bowl.
