There is no quit in Adam Vinatieri. Even a year and a half away from his 50th birthday and nearly 18 months removed from his last kick, the NFL’s all-time leading scorer is still hoping to get his body ready for one last season.
But his knee has other ideas. In an interview with Pro Football Hall of Fame kicker Morten Andersen that also included Vinatieri's thoughts on Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning and why he left New England for Indianapolis in 2006, Vinatieri admitted that his knee isn’t responding to treatment the way it used to.
