Evolving NFL could open more doors for Rudolph

INDIANAPOLIS — The Eagles just won the Super Bowl with an offense that features several elements popular in the college game — including the fashionably hot RPOs (run-pass options).

Tom Brady and the Patriots have been toying with tempo and playing more out of the shotgun for years.

And sets with three (or more) wide receivers have become the norm across the NFL.

The spread offense and its multiple variants don't carry quite as daunting a stigma in the pro game these days.

That's good news for Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph as he goes through the draft process this weekend at the NFL Scouting Combine.
