INDIANAPOLIS -- On paper, Zurlon Tipton was basically just another player who was toward the bottom of the Indianapolis Colts' roster.
He went back and forth between the practice squad and the active roster. But during the 2014 playoffs, Tipton moved ahead of the disappointing Trent Richardson on the depth chart and was the team's backup running back. Tipton even scored the Colts' only touchdown in their 45-7 loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game that season.
Tipton, who spent a lot of time on special teams, totaled 15 carries for 38 yards during the regular season in his two seasons with the team.
