INDIANAPOLIS -- Former Indianapolis Colts safety Dwight Lowery made an additional team-high $230,522.63 last season as part of the NFL’s performance-based pay program.
The performance-based pay is from a fund that supplements salaries of players whose playing time is disproportionate to their salary.
Lowery, who had a base salary of $665,000, played in 95.5 percent of the defensive snaps last season. He finished his only season with the Colts by recording 76 tackles, four interceptions and a sack while starting every game. Lowery’s best game was in Week 3 when he intercepted Tennessee quarterback Marcus Mariota twice, including returning one for a touchdown.
