INDIANAPOLIS –Dwayne Allen hobbled into the locker room on crutches, his right ankle immobilized and not bearing weight, and the scene seemed so familiar.
The Indianapolis Colts’ standout tight end has been a formidable player, one equally adept at single blocking a premier pass rusher or beating a linebacker down the field as a receiver. But he’s also shown himself to be quite capable of getting hurt.
Allen could miss several weeks based on coach Chuck Pagano’s description of Allen being “week to week” with an ankle injury.
