INDIANAPOLIS – It’s coming back, the world we used to know. Remember the days when we’d go to a sporting event and stand shoulder to shoulder with strangers for three hours, cheering and booing and breathing air we thought was safe? For the first time in 14½ months, those days are coming back. They were back almost in full this past weekend at the Indianapolis 500, and it feels too fast, it feels too slow, it feels like forever.
To hear our local sports teams tell it, people like me will be back in their locker rooms eventually.
