A little over two months ago it was announced the Indianapolis Colts would be exercising DE Kwity Paye’s fifth-year option. The Colts’ 2021 first-round draft selection is now slated to return to Indianapolis for the 2025 season and the option in question is worth a guarantee of approximately $13.4 million.
The decision to exercise Paye’s option came as a shocking one amongst Colts fans due to the selection of pass rusher Laiatu Latu a week prior presuming Paye’s exodus to be sooner rather than later (i.e., after the 2024 season). Whether or not Paye deserved the second chance is a separate discussion (he does, in my opinion).
