General manager Chris Ballard signed Kamar Aiken to a one-year deal worth around $2.6 million this offseason to improve the depth of their receiving corps behind T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief.
Aiken was the favorite to win the third wide receiver job in this Colts offense, but Chester Rogers emerged and was going to win the job early on in training camp. However, Rogers injured his hamstring and had to miss the beginning of the regular season, which gave Aiken another opportunity to get more reps.
It’s been difficult to evaluate the Colts’ pass-catchers this season with the turnover at quarterback, but Aiken has definitely been underwhelming.
