INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts have been in contact with Tyquan Lewis’ representatives about bringing the defensive lineman back to Indianapolis, sources told IndyStar on Wednesday.
Indianapolis would like to bring back the former second-round pick, who was in the middle of his best season when he tore his patellar tendon while returning an interception in the second game against the Tennessee Titans.
Playing defensive end on early downs and defensive tackle in passing situations, Lewis had 14 tackles, 2.5 sacks and 18 pressures in 311 snaps before the injury. The Colts believe his injury was a critical blow to a defensive line that produced just 33 sacks, the fewest of any season in the Matt Eberflus era.
