Colts trying to diligently follow protocols as COVID-19 cases sweep NFL

INDIANAPOLIS — The COVID-19 pandemic has been a subplot for most of the 2021 NFL season, producing headlines at times but occupying far less of the spotlight than it held in 2020.

But the coronavirus has taken center stage again this week.

At least 65 players have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past two days, according to the NFL’s transactions wire, a sharp rise from the 110 players who tested positive from Sept. 5 to Nov. 27. Four teams — Detroit, Washington, Cleveland and Los Angeles — have been hit by outbreaks this week.

The Colts have felt the impact the past couple of weeks.
