IndyStar is ranking the top 10 (or so) players at each position in Indianapolis Colts history. Today, we're looking at running backs:
1. Edgerrin James
Not a popular draft pick in 1999, it's hard to argue with the results of Bill Polian's decision as James will be inducted into the the Pro Football Hall of Fame this year. No running back scored more than James' 35 touchdowns his first two seasons and only Eric Dickerson had more yards from scrimmage (4,456 vs. 4,442) or rushing yards (3,913 vs. 3,262). James returned from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in his third season to post back-to-back 1,500-yard seasons with the Colts.
