IndyStar is ranking the top 10 (or so) players at each position in Indianapolis Colts history. Today, we're looking at punt and kick returners:
1. Clarence Verdin
An easy choice at No. 1 thanks to his two Pro Bowl berths (1990 and '92). An explosive punt returner, Verdin scored 4 touchdowns on 155 returns, averaging 9.9 yards per attempt. He also served as the team's kick returner, leading the NFL in returns (50) and yards (1,050) in 1993, though he averaged a good but not great 20.2 yards per kick return during his six seasons in Indianapolis.
