INDIANAPOLIS — Jack Doyle wasn’t flagged on Monday night for pushing Tavon Young’s head to the ground during the final moments of regulation in the Colts’ loss to Baltimore.
Young, on the other hand, was flagged for the retaliation, shoving Doyle. The veteran Colts tight end fell to the ground and drew a 15-yard penalty that helped set up a potential game-winning field goal attempt by Rodrigo Blankenship, although Blankenship missed.
The NFL can’t undo the call after the fact.
But the league’s disciplinary arm came as close as it could. Doyle was fined $10,815 for unnecessary roughness for shoving Young’s head, and the Ravens cornerback did not incur a fine.
