If I had to pinpoint a reason the Colts lost the game it was because they allowed Texans’ new running back Joe Mixon to run for over 150 yards on a 5 YPC clip. Houston as a whole finished with over 200 yards on the ground, something simply inexcusable for a team whose main calling card was the ability to stop the run last year. Zaire Franklin and E.J. Speed made no impact whatsoever on the game, and the discipline on outside zone runs was non-existent. This may have been a result of light boxes because the Colts were really worried about Stroud and his vaunted receiving core torching them through the air, but it is still inexcusable.
