Per his head coach Shane Steichen, Indianapolis Colts slot wideout Josh Downs (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday’s regular season opener against the Houston Texans (via FOX59/CBS4’s Mike Chappell):

While Downs was seen “cutting” at practice on Friday, it appears the Colts will err on the side of caution and hold out their starting slot wideout for at least this week’s opener.
