INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts plan to have one of the NFL’s best offensive lines for a long, long time, and after months of negotiations, Indianapolis made its first move to extend one of the members of its landmark 2018 draft class.
Indianapolis locked up right tackle Braden Smith right before the opening practice of training camp on Wednesday. Terms were not disclosed
By signing Smith, the Colts fulfill one-half of owner Jim Irsay's desire to have his right tackle and All-Pro linebacker Darius Leonard signed to extensions before the start of the season, and the Colts are putting their wallet behind the words they’ve been saying about Smith for a long time.
