The Indianapolis Colts (0-1) (-3) have ruled out starting safety Julian Blackmon ahead of Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers (0-1), per head coach Shane Steichen.
Per Colts.com, Steichen said regarding Blackmon’s latest injury, “I don’t think it’s long-term.”
Still, Blackmon’s loss is a big one to an increasingly injury depleted Colts secondary that will already be without starting outside cornerback JuJu Brents (knee) indefinitely, who was placed on injured reserve earlier this week.
Having been re-signed to a 1-year, $3.7 million deal this past offseason, Blackmon remains the Colts best safety—and had a bit of a breakout year in 2023 before he was injured late in the season with a serious shoulder injury (which is the same one that’s now injured again).
