Colts' roster shuffle continues

INDIANAPOLIS — First-year general manager Chris Ballard promised in January he'd allow competition to determine the Indianapolis Colts' roster, and he wouldn't play favorites.

The past two days have further driven that point home.

As the team made its (likely) final adjustments to the initial regular season roster Sunday, Ballard cut a 2017 fourth-round draft pick — offensive tackle Zach Banner — and two 2017 free-agent acquisitions — guard/center Brian Schwenke and tight end Brandon Williams.

Inside linebacker Sean Spence was released in Saturday's cut-down, and punter Jeff Locke was released last week. They also were signed as unrestricted free agents in March.
