INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts are getting rookie safety Julian Blackmon back ahead of schedule.
Blackmon, the team’s third-round pick out of Utah, was activated off of the non-football injury list on Monday, a remarkable achievement considering that he’s recovering from a torn ACL suffered in the Pac-12 Championship Game in December.
Recovery time from ACL tears has dropped over the years, but Blackmon’s ability to get back into playing shape is remarkable.
“Nine months, a little bit under that. … it’s just goes to speak to his mindset, the kind of person he is, how he attacked his rehab, even at a difficult time, even through the pandemic, in difficult circumstances,” Colts head coach Frank Reich said.
