INDIANAPOLIS – It’s a good thing the Colts had two weeks in between the AFC Championship game and the Super Bowl in 2006. That’s because they may not have beaten the Chicago Bears to win Super Bowl XLI that year.
Former Colts coach Tony Dungy said they were emotionally drained after finally getting over the hump called the the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game to reach the Super Bowl in Miami.
“It was hard (to get focused again),” Dungy said. “We had to fight that feeling and it was definitely good to have two weeks between that Championship game and the Super Bowl.
