Two years removed from a promising rookie season, Colts linebacker Jonathan Newsome was waived by the team today.
The move comes less than a week after Newsome was arrested in Zionsville for possession of marijuana, the latest marijuana-related issue for a player who had a history with the same substance in college.
Also today, the Colts released veteran linebacker Andy Studebaker.
#Colts OLB as of today: Robert Mathis, Erik Walden, Trent Cole, Bjoern Werner, Eze Obiora. Expect major changes within this group very soon.

Newsome was drafted in the fifth round in 2014 and emerged as a pass rusher that season with a team-high 6 1/2 regular-season sacks, followed by a strong postseason that included a game-changing sack and forced fumble on Peyton Manning.
