New general manager Chris Ballard wanted to bring some veteran leadership into their linebacker room this offseason, so he went out and signed LB Sean Spence in free agency. Ballard signed Spence to a one-year $2.5 million contract this offseason, but he failed to make the 53-man roster out of training camp.

Spence didn’t play at all in his rookie season with the Steelers, but he’s played in 46 games over the past three seasons. The former third round draft pick played his first three NFL seasons in Pittsburgh before joining the Titans for the 2016 season.
