Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen announced Wednesday that second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson will start in Sunday’s Week 11 road game against the New York Jets.
While the off-season plan is in shambles, the pivot to experiment with Joe Flacco was a complete and utter failure considering the 17-year veteran committed six turnovers over the last two games. Steichen believes the Colts (4-6) are still in the thick of the AFC playoff picture. Somehow, someway, he’s not wrong.
His controversial decision to bench Richardson made the offense appear much worse than it is, and he heard it from the home crowd.
