The NFL announced the list of 32 nominees for the 2020 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award Tuesday.
The Indianapolis Colts entered quarterback Jacoby Brissett for the honor, according to a press release.
The award recognizes an NFL player for excellence on and off the field, specifically outstanding community service. A special decal will be worn by Brissett signifying his accomplishments for the remainder of the season.
Brissett's efforts toward societal change as the leader of the team's social impact committee made the quarterback a logical choice.
He hosted a Q&A with other athletes in October discussing opportunities to make an impact in the community, the importance of the Black athlete and Black history.
