Colts QB Anthony Richardson ruled out of Steelers game with reported ‘hip pointer,’ as precaution

Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback Anthony Richardson is being held out of the remainder of Week 4’s game after suffering a reported ‘hip pointer’ during the first quarter of Sunday’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers:

The belief is Colts QB Anthony Richardson suffered a hip pointer, per sources.

With hip pointer + 17-point lead, I’m told Colts decided to be safe with his health & rule him out. Richardson remains on sidelines interacting with his team.— Cameron Wolfe (@CameronWolfe) September 29, 2024

Richardson has officially been downgraded to out.

With 5:42 left in the first quarter, Richardson ran the ball for 14 yards, but after failing to slide, took a significant hit to apparently the hip and fumbled, which was recovered by Indianapolis rookie offensive lineman Tanor Bortolini.
