Colts place tender on restricted free agent Ashton Dulin

INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts have placed a right of first refusal tender on restricted free agent Ashton Dulin, a tender that gives Indianapolis the right to match any contract offer he receives from another team and will pay him $2.433 million if he doesn’t get an offer.

A find for the Colts at little-known Malone University, Dulin, 24, has been the team’s top gunner on the special teams unit for the past three seasons, leading the team in special teams tackles twice in that time frame.

A year ago, Dulin finished second in the entire NFL with 17 special teams tackles, recovered a muffed punt against Miami and scored on a botched punt against the Rams when Los Angeles snapped the ball off of the upback.
