Indianapolis Colts punter Rigoberto Sanchez has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week, the NFL announced Wednesday. It's the first such award for Sanchez.
Sanchez averaged 50.0 yards over four punts, tying Chris Gardocki and David Lee (nine) for the fourth-most games with a 50.0-yard average or better, with two punts inside the 20-yard line.
Sanchez is the first Colt to earn AFC Special Teams Player of the Week since Rodrigo Blankenship in Week 11 last season.
