INDIANAPOLIS — A Colts defense that had given up a high rate of completions to Philip Rivers and Jacoby Brissett through the first four days of padded practices gave the Indianapolis offense fits after a slow start on Saturday.
Early in the practice, Rivers found Zach Pascal for a likely touchdown after the veteran receiver ended up wide open on a coverage bust, and Brissett came up with a big gain on a throw to tight end Trey Burton.
But then the defense started to get its hands on the football. Rock Ya-Sin broke up two passes, including a near-pick that he probably should have made, and safety Khari Willis made several nice plays coming up in run support, leading a Colts defense that kept making plays through the end.
