Darius Leonard on his second year and the chip on his shoulder Matt Kryger, IndyStar
INDIANAPOLIS — Darius Leonard has been forced to spend his time on the practice field this summer in shorts and a baseball cap, the aftermath of an ankle surgery he didn’t know he needed until he reported to Indianapolis for the start of offseason workouts.
Leonard won’t practice at the team’s mandatory minicamp this week, either, although he did spend a portion of Tuesday’s practice running with a trainer on another field.
But as tough as it’s been to sit out the summer, the All-Pro linebacker knows it was necessary.
