INDIANAPOLIS — Henry Anderson quickly came to a realization this offseason.
With new Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus installing a 4-3 scheme based on speed and athleticism, the 26-year-old defensive lineman couldn't remain on the edge at his playing weight of 295 pounds.
So he went on a meal plan — eschewed some of his favorite restaurants in Atlanta (where he grew up and spent the winter training) — and estimated he's dropped 15 to 20 pounds off his 6-foot-6 frame.
There are no guarantees, but Anderson hopes to earn a role as an early down defensive end who perhaps moves inside in sub packages and on obvious passing downs.
