INDIANAPOLIS — Amidst all the deserved praise for the performance of the rookie defensive backs Sunday against Arizona, veteran cornerback Rashaan Melvin quietly played one of the best games of his five-year career.
The 27-year-old led the team with seven tackles and added pass two deflections.
But his biggest impact might have come from something far less tangible: Leadership.
"Being the older guy out there and having to get everybody lined up, make sure everybody's understanding what exactly's going on, I took it as a challenge," Melvin said. "And I think, me overall doing a good job and they did a great job listening.
