ANDERSON — The Colts quite literally ran out of cornerbacks early in the fourth quarter Sunday at Denver.
Injuries left Antonio Cromartie — who twice left the game himself — and Rashaan Melvin as the only healthy corners on the active roster, and Indianapolis suddenly found itself in need of a nickelback on an obvious passing down.
That's how safety Matthias Farley — an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame who was cut by the Cardinals and signed during the week before the regular season opener — found himself trotting onto the field on the road against the defending Super Bowl champions.
