Laughter might be too strong a term, but JuJu Brents can at least smile now when thinking about one of the NFL’s more unique injuries.
The Indianapolis Colts’ second-year cornerback initially believed his visor was knocked back into his face during a collision in a preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals on Aug. 17.
Film review later revealed something far more unusual.
An opponent’s foot somehow slipped under Brents’ facemask and made contact with the 24-year-old’s face, breaking his nose and causing multiple lacerations.
“It was weird,” Brents said Thursday at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center.
