The Indianapolis Colts swung a blockbuster trade to upgrade their defensive front, acquiring defensive end DeForest Buckner from the San Francisco 49ers and agreeing to a five-year contract extension with him worth $21 million annually, according to a league source.
Buckner, the No. 7 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, emerged as a force along the defensive front during his third season in the NFL when he notched 12 sacks and secured his first Pro Bowl berth.
Last year, Buckner was part of one of the best fronts in all of football, as he racked up 62 tackles to go along with 7.
