Indianapolis linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi and cornerbacks coach James Rowe are headed to Chicago, a league source confirmed to IndyStar on Friday, to join the staff of former Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, who was hired as the Bears head coach on Thursday.
The Colts had already decided not to retain defensive line coach Brian Baker, and at this point, only safeties coach Alan Williams, assistant defensive line coach Matt Raich and assistant defensive backs coach David Overstreet still remain from the team’s 2021 defensive staff.
Williams, who has coordinated a defense before, could get a look as the Colts’ new defensive coordinator, although he is reportedly a candidate to be Eberflus' defensive coordinator in Chicago and there are plenty of high-profile candidates available outside the organization.
