INDIANAPOLIS — The work of building the next roster has already begun, even though the Colts have barely started the autopsy of the season that just ended.
NFL rosters expand to 90 at the start of the new league year in March, but teams that have been eliminated from the playoffs can begin expanding earlier than that by signing players to reserve/future contracts, provided those players didn’t end the regular season on active roster.
Indianapolis signed 14 players to reserve/future contracts on Monday. Typically, these players end up fighting for limited roster spots during training camp, but the list the Colts signed on Monday is full of players who either saw action on game days in 2021 or have contributed in the NFL in the past.
