INDIANAPOLIS — The backbone of the Indianapolis Colts' linebacking unit, defensive captain D'Qwell Jackson, has been suspended four games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Jackson, who will be suspended without pay, will miss the team's next four games and will be eligible to return to the team's active roster following the regular season finale on Jan. 1 against the Jaguars. That is if the Colts make the playoffs.
If not, his 2016 season is over.
Jackson's absence will be a massive blow for an inconsistent defensive unit that's played its best football over the course of the last month, helping the team even its record at 6-6 and into a tie for first place in the AFC South.
