INDIANAPOLIS — Darius Leonard’s troublesome left ankle isn’t all the way back yet.
Leonard played through the injury with the ankle heavily taped and braced last season, freely admitting at a couple of points that he couldn’t play the way he was used to playing.
But Leonard is hopeful that the work the doctors have done on his ankle over the course of the last two years is enough to avoid a summer like the one he went through last year, when he underwent surgery in June and missed the first couple weeks of training camp.
“It’s attached, it’s there,” Leonard said.
