It has been a whirlwind last few months for Jacoby Brissett. He entered this season as the backup quarterback, and then was thrust into the starting lineup once Andrew Luck retired. He was now expected to be the franchise quarterback of the future.
The Colts showed faith in him early, signing him to a two-year extension. That was more of a gesture to not make him feel like a lame-duck. He is a free agent at the end of the season. The contract was given to him to give him confidence that he can lead this team.
