INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts' defensive staff under defensive coordinator Gus Bradley is taking shape.
Indianapolis has hired former Eagles and Jets assistant defensive line coach Nate Ollie, a Ball State alum who starred for the Cardinals, to be its new defensive line coach, a league source confirmed to IndyStar, and has also hired former safety Mike Mitchell to be the team’s assistant defensive backs coach.
Ollie takes over a critical position on the Colts’ defensive staff. Under Frank Reich, Indianapolis has already had two defensive line coaches — Mike Phair and Brian Baker, who actually ended up replacing Phair again in Carolina after Indianapolis decided not to retain Baker this offseason — and the developmental results have been mixed, particularly in the pass rush.
