Have some patience, Colts fans. Keep the faith. That notion played a big part in general manager Chris Ballard’s sprawling end-of-season news conference Thursday, particularly when discussing the progression of some recent draft picks.
“Everybody thinks a player is going to get to this league, crank it out and be great right away,” Ballard said. “That’s not realistic. … It takes time for guys to develop."
Ballard won’t argue that the careers of 2019 second-round picks Ben Banogu, Parris Campbell and Rock Ya-Sin have gotten off to rocky starts.
Banogu hasn’t seen the field much; Campbell hasn’t been able to stay on it; and Ya-Sin has played plenty but struggled in spurts.
