INDIANAPOLIS — The NFL offseason has woken from its slumber, sipped a couple cups of coffee, consumed a big breakfast at the Combine last week and is finally dressed, pressed and ready to get down to business.
Free agency is about to begin.
The Colts have the money to make a splash, more than $102 million in cap space, the kind of money that means Indianapolis can essentially do whatever it wants. For that reason, the Colts will be linked to a whole lot of big names over the next couple of days, the product of agents trying to link their clients to big money and NFL analysts accustomed to seeing teams with lots of cash to spend find ways to blow it in free agency.
