Colts' Frank Gore on brink of being oldest 1,000-yard rusher since 1984

INDIANAPOLIS -- Forty-eight of the 53 players currently on the Indianapolis Colts' active roster were not born the last time a running back older than age 33 rushed for more than 1,000 yards in a season.

But after a 32-year wait, Colts running back Frank Gore is on the brink of accomplishing that feat. Gore is 36 yards shy of being the first running back older than 33 since John Riggins to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. Riggins rushed for 1,239 yards in 1984 at age 35.

Gore can accomplish that feat and become the first Colts running back to rush for 1,000 yards in a season since 2007 when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
